PFBC office -
10th October
The Mayor of Poole, Councillor Graham Wilson and Mayoress Mrs Sally Wilson came to Poole Flying Boats Celebration at Parkstone Library to officially open the new office.
The Mayoress has vivid memories of when, aged 4, she was taken on a flight in a flying boat. Her father, an engineer was unable to secure a babysitter for his young daughter and so she "went to work with Daddy".
PFBC hope in the near future to work with the Mayoress and her family to ascertain all details of her father's part in the historic era of flying boats when from the south of England they flew all over the world.
The new PFBC office means that our Archive and Library now have a home and, although the office is not manned all the time, PFBC would welcome enquires from those who are interested in the Charity and a mutually convenient appointment can be made for visitors.
