Past Events: Uncle Sam Celebration

Our first exciting Celebration for 2011.
The story of the contribution of aircraft constructed in the US, had remarkable bearing on the FB & Seaplane ops from Poole.
Some 36 of these aircraft (so far identified by PFBC Archive) had significance for BOAC, for the RAF and the Fleet Air Arm.
Those rigours of WW2 effort were to the most part augmented by these, e.g. the long distance capability of the Boeings & Cats proved to be a vital factor in service; the versatility of the Cats was put to very good use by the military & civil operators alike.
To onlookers the images of these are still simply breathtaking; with our Uncle Sam photographs and Jeremy Water’s delivery … stunning!
